Teeth Whitening and Bleaching
Teeth whitening and bleaching have become a widely used and popular way to whiten smiles. Many Lincoln Dental patients achieve the look they’ve been dreaming of with either custom-made home whitening trays or with the Zoom! chairside tooth whitening system, achieving dramatically whiter teeth in one office visit for immediate results.
Teeth whitening is an inexpensive and safe procedure. Depending on your preference, you can lighten only your upper teeth or both the upper and lower.
For the home whitening procedure, we will provide you with a special bleaching agent that you put into the custom-made clear trays, which removes stains from the enamel of your teeth. Once your teeth reach your preferred brightness, only occasional treatments are needed to maintain your new smile.
For the Zoom! whitening procedure, as seen on Extreme Makeover, the procedure is simple. It begins with a short preparation to cover your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed. We then apply the proprietary Zoom! Whitening Gel which was developed to be used with the Zoom! Lamp.
The Zoom! Lamp and whitening gel work together to gently penetrate your teeth, breaking up stains and discoloration. Lincoln Dental patients leave that day with dramatically whiter teeth and also take home custom trays to touch-up whenever they like.
Tooth Bonding
Tooth bonding is convenient, often completed in one visit, and can significantly improve the appearance of a tooth, allowing Dr. Sims to lighten stains, close minor gaps and restore decayed teeth.
Bonding is a resin that is used in the front or back teeth once a tooth is prepared through light etching on its surface. The tooth is bonded, sculpted, colored and shaped to improve your smile. Once cured with a high-intensity curing light, the surface is polished. Bonding typically lasts three to five years, or even longer before need of repair.
Dental Veneers
Porcelain veneers improve the look of teeth, especially if you have teeth that are uneven, chipped, stained or crooked. Veneers are pieces of ceramic that are bonded to the front of your teeth, remaining virtually undetectable and highly resistant to stains from substances like coffee, tea, or tobacco.
Veneers can be completed in about three dental visits, involving a consultation with Dr. Sims as well as an impression of your teeth to send to the lab where your veneers will be made. The veneers will then be placed and bonded to your teeth during the third visit.
Dr. Sims will ensure that your veneers are crafted from the highest quality porcelains and are bonded with the most advanced and proven materials available.
Veneers require the same type and amount of care as regular teeth. Brushing twice daily and flossing once a day, along with regularly scheduled trips to your dentist, will ensure a bright, healthy smile for years to come.
